AngreziGuru ("we", "our", "the app") is an English-learning app designed for Indian learners. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using AngreziGuru you agree to this policy.
1. Data We Collect
Data stored only on your device (never sent to our servers):
- Learning progress – completed topics, quiz scores, XP, level
- Streak and study history
- Spaced-repetition (SRS) card review data
Data sent to third-party AI service:
- Text you type in the AI Guru chat, grammar correction, and explanation features is sent to Anthropic to generate a response. No name, email, or device ID is attached to these requests.
Microphone:
- The Speaking Practice feature requests microphone access. Audio is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded or stored.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not create user accounts or collect your name, email address, or phone number.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not display advertisements.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties (except Anthropic for AI responses as described above).
3. Third-Party Services
AngreziGuru uses the following third-party service:
- Anthropic Claude API – processes AI chat and grammar queries. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
4. Children's Privacy
AngreziGuru is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
5. Data Security
All learning data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. AI queries are sent over HTTPS. We do not maintain any backend database of user information.
6. Your Rights
Since all your data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling AngreziGuru removes all locally stored data permanently.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
